This week’s cocktail takes a fresh spin with gin.
Light botanicals of juniper berries, rose petals, and cucumber mix with fresh thyme to give our cocktail a light, thin taste. Simple and sophisticated, it’s a good choice for any time of year.
TONIC THYME
Ingredients
2 oz. Hendricks Gin
1/4 oz. simple syrup
2 slices cucumber
4 sprigs of thyme
Lime wedge (optional)
2 oz. tonic
Method
Put all ingredients except for tonic into a shaker glass. Add ice and shake to chill. Strain into a glass filled with ice and top with tonic.
Garnish with a slice of cucumber, a sprig of thyme and a lime wedge.
Tips
Hendricks gin is made using small stills dating back to 1860 and it is infused with rose petals and cucumbers.
You can use a different gin if you prefer.
Another variation is to use rosemary instead of thyme.
Enjoy the possibilities.
